1. Eligibility

RPI Dates is exclusively for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute community. To use our services, you must be an active student, faculty, or staff member with a valid @rpi.edu email address. By registering, you warrant that you meet this requirement and will not allow unauthorized persons to access your account.

2. Code of Conduct

We maintain strict standards to ensure a safe, respectful environment. By using RPI Dates, you agree to:

  • Be Respectful: Harassment, hate speech, bullying, and intimidation are strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate ban.
  • Be Authentic: You must represent yourself accurately. Fake profiles, catfishing, or impersonation of other students is forbidden.
  • Keep It Campus-Safe: Do not use the platform for commercial purposes, spam, or soliciting.

3. Match Pacing & App Usage

RPI Dates is designed for intentional connections, not endless swiping. We enforce paced matching limits to promote quality interactions and reduce app fatigue. Attempting to bypass these limits, automate interactions, or reverse-engineer our matching algorithms violates these Terms of Service.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (e.g., photos, profile bios). However, by uploading content, you grant RPI Dates a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and modify that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our policies without notice.

5. Termination & Moderation

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the community. Safety is our top priority, and moderation decisions may be final.

6. Limitation of Liability

RPI Dates provides a platform for connecting students but is not responsible for the conduct of its users, online or offline. You agree to use caution in all interactions and understand that the app is provided "as is" without any warranties.
